ICE-MBT3
Multi- Band Tuner

BLOCK DIAGRAM

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

The ICE-MBT3 card is a 24-channel digital narrow/medium band tuner featuring:

System Configuration:

The ICE-MBT3 can be configured with 6 GrayChip GC4016 processors. The GC4016s are controlled via the SHARC's data bus with each chip connected to one of six SHARC link ports for high speed data transfer. The 16-bit digital input data can come from the external I/O Module ports or the SHARC link ports. This allows data that is archived on the host (disk or memory) to be processed by the tuners.

Wideband Input:

The tuner chips may be bypassed to acquire wideband input directly into the host if desired.  The link ports are shared between wideband and the tuners such that for each 38Mby/sec of wideband input, one tuner chip is unavailable.  See Block Diagram.  Simultaneous acquisition of wideband and tuned data is supported.
