Software Note

    As of 8-29-02 there is a new firmware download file for the RI(ICE)-SONET module that is available for download.  This new firmware download will be needed for use with versions of the ICE software tree prior to version ice310 only.

Operation at 155Mb/S or 622 Mb/S Fiber Line Rates 
Bi-Directional, Interfaces To STM1, STM4, OC3, OC12, SDH Lines
Provides Bit Packing, Frame Alignment, and Descrambling/Scrambling
Rx at 1500nM or 1300nM, Tx at 1300nM
Rx power level requirements:  -28 dBM < power level  <-8 dBM
Activating Rx Acquisition Provides For Feed Through To Tx Port Of Rx Data
Optional Raw STM4 Data Acquisition Or Choose 1 Of 4  STM1s From STM4  For Acquisition

*  Transmit Power Supply: Enables Power Supply For Tx Operation. Default Setting When Delivered

Note: Transmit Power should be Disabled when transmit capability is not being 

           used to avoid laser over heating and shutdown.  Disabling the Tx laser power

           supply  when not in use will prolong the life of the laser of the Tx interface.
